Sabrina-The little Princess surrendered from less than Royal conditions
Sabrina is an adorable, white and tan, pure bred shih-tzu. NJAFA received a tip that she was living outside 24/7 with her only shelter being a crate covered in a tarp. NJAFA’s volunteers reached out to the owners to explain to them that a dog living outside with only a crate for shelter and table scraps for food was not appropriate particularly for such a tiny and vulnerable dog.
They agreed, and surrendered her to NJAFA. We immediately took Sabrina to the vet, got her updated with shots, but most importantly SPAYED! Imagine this beautiful little princess living outside with no protection from unaltered male dogs and going into heat. When she got home to her foster moms house, NJAFA realized that this poor girl more than likely NEVER got a chance to live inside a home, as she wasn’t housebroken, and her favorite thing to do was to put her front paws up on her foster moms TV and watch it in amazement.
We were very picky when adopting our “Princess” out. We had a specific situation in mind, we wanted her to FINALLY be someone’s #1. After waiting, we finally found that someone…Sabrina is someone’s princess!!!
She is an only dog, in an adult home, so her attention doesn’t have to be shared with anyone. Her new guardian tells us that she is doing WONDERFUL and they couldn’t be happier!!! Sabrina is now housebroken and adjusted very well to the life of Royalty! It’s Happy Tails like this that make you realize that no matter how big or small you CAN make a difference.
