NJ Aid for Animals’ Community Pet Days Delivers Life-Saving Vaccines

Camden County, NJ—Dogs and cats from Lindenwold, NJ will receive a free life saving vaccine on Saturday, August 4, 2012. NJ Aid for Animals, Inc. delivers a range of services to promote care, prevent animal abuse and improve the quality of life for animals in New Jersey giving out free vaccines for the last five years in Camden City NJ and will now be bringing these services to Lindenwold along with low cost flea treatment and a chance to sign up for low cost spaying and neutering.

Bring your dog or cat to the Moose Lodge, 2425 South Whitehorse Pike Lindenwold NJ 08021 from 9:00 am to Noon. With a limited amount of free vaccines available, they will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. (must be a Lindenwold resident). No reservation is required. These are not rabies vaccines. Hungry pet owners can purchase a breakfast “special” from the Moose Lodge Ladies’ Auxiliary.

A tax-exempt nonprofit, NJ Aid for Animals is the only all-volunteer animal charity that brings free life-saving vaccines to protect dogs against the highly contagious parvo virus and upper respiratory virus for cats. Parvo is a deadly condition that ranks second only to hot weather trauma as the top cause of preventable canine deaths in summer. Most dogs that contract parvo are surrendered and euthanized due to high cost of treatment.

In this economy, fundraising to meet community need is even more challenging. NJ Aid for Animals’ guest partner at this event, Animal Welfare Association (AWA), Voorhees, NJ, is an example of rescue organizations coming together for the community and to support each other in a difficult economy.

This Community Pet Day with its all volunteer corps, led by McGuire, keeps with their mission to promote animals’ well-being by bringing lifesaving vaccines to the communities and with Animal Welfare Association providing the medical team, it is a win win for the animals. The shot prevents disease which in turn saves a call to animal control when it becomes too expensive for owner to treat. In turn, the shelter is not burdened so these types of clinics become dollar savers for townships and constituents.

McGuire added, “NJ Aid for Animals has been enriching animals’ lives since 2005 and organizing the Community Pet Day for five years in Camden in collaboration with FOP Lodge #1. It’s through partnering, collaborating, sharing services and cooperation with other agencies that can serve the animals the best. We’re excited to add Lindenwold’s dogs and cats to receive services and our friends at the Moose Lodge who have donated their venue.”
