Lab puppy with fractured jaw needs the public’s help
Camden County, NJ — (August 26, 2013) What do animal lovers from five separate humane organizations and a veterinary hospital have in common? One wiggly little black lab puppy named Maddox.
Maddox jumped from his owner’s car in northern New Jersey. With his jaw fractured and dislocated, the family had no resources for the required surgery. This lucky pup received a second chance at life when several dedicated groups went into high gear, like a well–oiled machine to utilize their specific missions to get Maddox the help he needed.
The collaborative effort began when NJ Aid for Animals got the call, negotiated the surrender of Maddox and transported him from north Jersey to the hospital clearing the path for his immediate surgery. Quick thinking from Camden County Animal Shelter’s Foster Us Program got Maddox into the Winslow Animal Hospital and arranged for a committed foster mom to care for Maddox after his jaw was to be wired shut for six weeks. Once Maddox recovers, Rebound Hounds ResQ will find him a permanent home. PawIt4Ward and Moms Rescue are taking the lead for the fundraising.
Maddox is recuperating and doing well thanks to these devoted groups. Their efforts are a shining example of how working together, sharing resources and skills can lead to incredible outcomes.
Even though Dr. Philipp Coudrai, at Winslow Animal Hospital was able to offer his services at a substantial discount, Maddox’ surgery costs need to be covered. The groups must raise $1,800 and needs your help. Please donate directly to Winslow Animal Hospital at (856) 875-1323 for “Maddox Fund”.
