Kathy McGuire moved to South Jersey seven years ago to get married, and decided it was time to concentrate on what was near and dear to her heart: helping homeless and abused animals.

She quit her job and started her charity, New Jersey Aid for Animals.

“You start to think about what’s really important and you better realize your dream.”

Those who work with New Jersey Aid for Animals spay and neuter as many as they can find, mostly in the city of Camden, as well as educate people on how to properly care for animals.

McGuire also works to get those who abuse animals prosecuted.

“I wish I had more people I could teach what I know. And that’s what I want to find: people who are willing to go the extra mile or two.”
