EIGHT PUPPIES FROM CAMDEN OFF TO THEIR NEW LIVES

These little babies that were surrendered to us at one week old have reached the age now to go to the rescue that will have the hardest job....finding appropriate homes for each and every one of them...quite a job. And we thought cleaning up puppy poo and socializing them for eight weeks was tough!!!

Thanks to EVERYONE WHO HELPED OUT NJAFA with food, newspapers, manpower, cuddling time, and just giving us a break !!!

LOVELY LULU
Surrendered by a trucker to NJAFA since the local County shelter in Camden would not take her, we are loving her alot! She is a three month old yorkie/long haired dachshund that can already fetch her ball and play with the other dogs and cats.
Working on her housebreaking and she goes into her little crate with no fuss and sleeps right through the night.

JULY 2010 - LULU HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

WEEPING WILLOW (because she doesn't have a home)
Eighteen month old full bred black cocker chained in Camden City was surrendered to NJAFA.  She is a stunner and has a personality to match.  Loves everyone and even cats.  Is almost crate trained. Spayed all shots.

JULY 2010 - WILLOW HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

URGENT HELP NEEDED
This is Petey.  His family cannot afford the medicine for his skin condition.  NJ Aid for Animals and "Sherry" have paid for his initial visit at the vet but the family needs more medicine and an allergy test to find out what is going on with his skin.  The testing is very expensive
It is NOT manage and not flea dermatitis.  Won't you help us to  help this family in Pine Hill.  This poor dog literally has blisters all over him and no fur left.
 Won't you help Petey?

PETEY UPDATE: A very generous anonymous donor is sponsoring Petey's vet bills.  He was just seen again and given a whole new protocol of meds and testing...When he was seen again on June l4, his temp was l04 degrees (anything over l03 for a dog is urgent).

"Anonymous" is in constant contact with us in case Petey needs anything and is truly an angel.

THANK YOU!

As we come to the end of another very successful year for NJ Aid for Animals we would like to share some updates with you from some of the wonderful animals we have adopted to in the past.....

Willow has a home and a new playmate.
She will never be chained up again in Camden City. She will never have mats so large on her that they were painful to take off.  She will never have to be alone in the dark day after day week after week month after month.  She and her two buddies that were also chained up..Cricket and Sugar Bear have both found fabulous homes.

Thank you to the angels who gave these dogs a loving home.
CHESTER
Hi Kathy,
He is wonderful and is still a happy little guy. He loves his dollies and runs all over the house. Every new one is his new favorite toy. He’s wonderful with the grandchildren and adults but not crazy about other dogs. I can walk him very well though and he walks right beside me. He makes Tom and I laugh all the time. We love him.Hope all is well with you. Have a very blessed Christmas
Linda and Tom and Chester.

SPUD now named COOPER
Remember the darling little Rottie pup NJAFA purchased from someone in a parking lot last summer?
Dear Kathy:
He is going to get much bigger. He is only 8 months and just starting to fill out, but will become much bigger in height and weight. His head is beginning to fill out as well. His paws are so large, they literally are the same size as my adult hands.Cooper loves the cats, absolutely adores them, but they hiss and howl and smack him and he runs in a corner and puts his head down. They stalk him! And he runs under things! He's so good though, so kind and gentle and so full of love. The vet said he will be monsterous! Each week he is bigger. Dave

Eva Marie Saint
Hi Kathy..
We are glad you are having a good holiday also..You should see Eva with all the company we had this holiday season!..everyone just loved her...she is very sociable and she makes sure she get hugs FIRST from everyone!!
She is totally different from the first day she arrived-she is so active and eats like a horse..she thinks she is in charge of the kitchen all the time(her favorite place to be with me!)
Eva also gets up in the middle of the night to sleep on her very own love seat..she is amazing..I guess with a very active life all day she needs her "time alone" some time!!
Everyone says that she has come to the right family! We think so too!
Eva's tail has totally healed...her hair on it has grown back as has the hair on her head. Her legs are healed also-she is so healthy and fast moving.
One more week of the holiday season and we can get back to our winter routine! Can't wait!

Peaches
When we found three little kittens recently in Camden, the owner surrendered them and Peaches ended up with one of our volunteers.. Look what a sweet baby she is with her new brother Caesar....Peaches is a spoiled little girl that will have a wonderful forever home.

TANK (remember this big boy who found his forever home last year?)
Happy Holidays Kathy!
Our boy is doing beautifully; he is still, and always will be, the center of our lives!
I must tell you two weeks ago I had an inkling of wanting to adopt another cat; my husband was very hesitant about bringing another one into the house and getting Tank upset. I told him I was going to scour the local rescue agencies to find the “perfect” match for Tank. After visiting the local ASPCA and not finding anything, I went to the Animal Protection Agency in Schenectady, NY and found little Gracie. She is 3 years old, around Tank’s age I think, and is smoky gray, with a white chest and long haired. She is half of Tank’s size and very petite with a tiny head & paws. Her previous owner was elderly and was admitted to a nursing home that would not accept animals; Gracie was at the agency for 6 months. Well, let me tell you, they are like brother & sister and immediately fell in love with each other! They are inseparable; they eat together, play together & sleep together. I promise to send you a picture of the two of them lying under the Christmas tree together soaking up the warmth from the lights!
I hope all is well for you and your family; we think of you often! I love receiving your flyers in the mail to find out what you’re up to!
Keep in touch…Much love, Janet, Sandy, Tank & Gracie

CHANCE - Remember one of the pitbulls seized from a dog fighter November, 2008?
He is now a spoiled little boy who found a loving home.

We had a busy Holiday Season...during a visit to Animal Care and Control in Philadelphia we saw 6 little dogs we could not leave behind. Most were very ill, and/or had severe dental problems. They have all found loving homes since we pulled them on November 1st ... Auggie, Sparky, Nikki, Rocky,Corki, Coco

AUGGIE
We pulled Auggie, a little Yorkie that was so sick he could not stand up. We thought he was a goner for sure but after Save a Yorkie took him and spent over $l,000 on this little man, look at Auggie now. Thanks to Marilyn and Jane from Save a Yorkie Rescue....if you are looking for a Yorkie, give them a call!!! But you won't be able to adopt Auggie.. I think he may be in "permanent" foster...hahah. Call: Marilyn Faughner, Rescue Coordinator, Save A Yorkie Rescue, Inc., 610-670-2183

Sparky
Little tiny Chihauhau that was only about 3 pounds. He is now in a loving home with a groomer no less that has fallen madly in love with him.
(no pic)
Nikki
Also a tiny Chi that is with same groomer. NJ Aid for Animals paid for little Nikki who was deathly ill to stay in hospital for three days. He is well on his way to mending and finding a forever home.

Corki
What a story. This little Chi was also very sick AND had to have what remaining teeth he had pulled.. He received a full blood workup and dental. He also had canine influenza and got cured and a forever home!!! But not without spreading the disease to NINE of the foster's own dogs. All are being treated. But at least Corki got a home!!!

Rocky
What a delight this dog was to have at our house. He LOVES EVERYONE and EVERYBODY!!!! He went to his forever home only a few miles away and is with another little dog that looks just like him. This is one we would have kept for sure if he hadn't found a perfect home!!

Coco
What a little imp this one is. She was the last to go. We found the most perfect home who has another little shitzu and is training her to be a perfect little lady. We were blessed to find this young couple with no children who can dedicate all their time to training a dog that has had no structure her whole life.

Mary
Remember Mary who we rescued on Easter Sunday from this horrible hoarder house? She is in a fabulous house with people who love her MADLY!!!! This is a true rags to riches story.

LULU
LuLu is great! She is still having fun playing with her brother, her toys and racing around her home and yard. She loves her walks and is "looking forward to the holidays." We are really lucky to have her, our little "bug." Charlotte

Kona (one of five surviving puppies of ten that froze to death)
