MISTY A LITTLE GIRL FROM CAMDEN THAT NEEDS HELP.

One of our first friends in Camden was a woman named Jamie. Jamie knew nothing about animals but knew she loved them. She saved several cats off the streets and NJAFA spayed and neutered them. She was a friend to all animals.

On New Year's Eve of 2006, Jamie feel over dead in her apartment of a heart attack. She was only 44. Her mother donated her body and gave away her belongings and called us to say all of Jamie's cats were going to the shelter if we didn't come and get them right then.

Our President rushed to Camden and got Jamie's cat. All found a home except Misty because she 'swats" and doesn't like other cats. We could not take a chance with adopting her and she is our longest "resident".

Misty needs a surgery that is very delicate. Most vets won't even touch this kind of surgery but we have found someone we trust with experience.

Misty has developed a trauma hernia which is very different from an easily repaired umbilical hernia. She has to have a screen put in her to separate her intestines that are bulging out. She lives in a very large area completely by herself (of course with tv and tons of toys so not sure what happened).

Check out Misty's photo - her malady has not caused her to miss any meals!

Won't you help us raise money for her surgery?

She is a very clean dog despite how she lived.  Jada is being trained to sit, heel, (doing very very well with her "heel" commands) and come with a professional trainer, Absolute Control Dog Training in Lumberton, NJ and can be seen for potential adoption there.  However, we ask you first fill out an application (see link) on our website.

He’s hoping for a second Chance…click here to read full story

NJ Aid for Animals rescued Chance and two other pit bulls from a dog fighting ring in South Jersey. It was a daily roller coaster ride as vets struggled to bring him back from certain death. His scars and timid spirit are the sad result of a past full of abuse. His love for people, belly rubs, fetch and a good meal bring a glimmer of hope for a promising future. Chance is currently recovering with foster parents. They report that he is doing well and is coming out of his shell. He is learning how to love, trust, and just “be a dog.” He is walking well on a leash, learning basic commands and mastering fetch. He has never shown aggression with food or toys, but would still do best in a quiet home without other animals or small children (due to his past and shyness). He is definitely a snuggly lap dog – sized just right – not too big and not too small! He’s not housebroken yet, but he is almost there.
Please consider being Chance’s angel. He will shower you with love and thanks every day of his new and happy life! To learn more or ask about adoption, contact Kathy @ 856-498-3978. After all, isn’t everyone searching for a Chance?
